Margaritaville’s Lucky Rita Sets Guinness Book World Record

Posted on May 06, 2013 in News & Events

It’s official! The Guinness Book World Record for the largest glass of Margarita belongs to Margaritaville’s Lucky Rita.

In October, we helped concoct the largest margarita of all time to celebrate the grand opening of the Margaritaville Casino at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas. Aptly named the Lucky Rita, it took approximately 300 hours and 60 people to prepare the drink.

The first two days of this momentous event were spent unloading and opening 2,282 gallons of Margaritaville Margarita Mix. The finished cocktail included more than 2,134 gallons of Margaritaville Gold Tequila and 729 gallons of Margaritaville Triple Sec.

Lucky Ritas were on sale to the public for two days, allowing Las Vegas visitors to taste a part of history. For every gallon of the Lucky ‘Rita sold, Margaritaville donated $5 to the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team. In all, over 181,000 cups of margaritas were dispensed from the Lucky Rita to eager Parrot Heads and tourists alike. We will never forget this unique opportunity to be a part of history and to support a worthy cause.
